Photography is a dream, a way of life, my passion and inner creativity.

I’m a hobbyist photographer born in France, I’m currently based in Luxembourg.

As a child, I did my first pictures using a black box from 1930 and I still have the resulting wonkily-framed fuzzy prints somewhere. My interest in photography was sparked when my parents bought me my first AE SLR camera in the early 80’s, it was a Olympus OM-20 and I loved it.  My holiday snaps often demonstrated a strong sense of composition, and that was the beginning of my increasing interest in photography.

I did a trip to San Francisco in 2002, it gave me the opportunity to switch to digital. I bought a Nikon Coolpix 885, this 3MP  compact was always in my pocket, it was a fantastic camera to really begin learning how to record the world around me. I think that being able to take as many photos as I wanted, without paying to get them developed, got me addicted. I was hooked. Technically speaking, I reached quickly the limitations for using a compact, specially with fast-moving subjects and low light. A Southern Alps trek signed to end the life of my Nikon when I did a fall in a river.

I was looking for a “take anywhere” camera in 2007, my choice was one of the smaller digital cameras on the market, the Coolpix P1, with 8MP it was the first digital camera with a built-in WiFi connectivity (that I didn’t used at all finally due to a serious security hole in the client software).

The frustration to capture the beauty of a whole landscape conducted me through “panorama factory” a software to creates high-quality panoramas from a set of overlapping digital images. As it needs to align everything precisely, to get biggest image and better definition, I naturally turn to  Gigapixel shooting hardware.

My latest acquisition is a Panasonic Lumix G1. It offers pretty decent quality for a cheap price. I’ve never really been one to follow the ‘legends’ of photography . My expectation was to produce attracting pictures using limited kit, and exotic lenses.

Later I did acquired my first full frame, it was a Canon 5D Mark II.

Photography is a dream, a way of life, my passion and inner creativity.
